Awarded by CNI- Women Leadership Forum

We are very grateful to express the award received by Ms. Kamala Upreti ,President of WFN and Ms. Renu Sharma Former President of WFN in recognition for ongoing commitment in championing women’s issues for gender equality in Nepal dated on 7th March 2022. The award ceremony was organized by Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI)- Women Leadership forum in respects the national recognition for influencing women who are chosen for their successful accomplishment and contribution in changing the society for women. WFN has been awarded in recognition of making exemplary contributions in the society by providing the free legal services, skill development trainings and providing job opportunities for women in need. The award ceremony was organized on the special occasion of the International Women’s Day 2022.

Ongoing PSW Trainings

Regarding the creation of innovative income opportunities to the targeted women, WFN has been running the three months Personal Support Worker (PSW) Training from the 1st January 2022. Despite the difficult and unexpected Corona situation occurred, trainings are running smoothly due to the strict safety measures. The main objective of the project PSW Training is strengthening the social participation and self-determination of disadvantaged women from Kathmandu, and the regions Bhaktapur, Kavre, Sunsari, Sindhupalchok and Dolakha. The training has been started from the 1st January and will be completed by the end of March 2022 !

The first phase of PSW training is taking place at two different locations: Kathmandu and in Sunsari Districts. In order to implement the training successfully, WFN has appointed a training coordinator in Sunsari. A well-known training center of Inkha Polyclinic has been providing the training hall, hubs for practical class and trainers. Moreover, the branch office of WFN Sunsari regularly monitors and evaluates the training.

Major Outcomes

· PSW trainings in both of the districts have been running satisfactorily.

· Trainees and trainers  have been participating with a strong enthusiasm.

· Regular internal/ weekly tests and practical classes are taking place.

· Both the WFN central office and district branch have been monitoring and providing adequate facilitation for the trainings.
