Domestic violence makes up 78.3% of all Gender-Based Violence cases, meaning it is the greatest cause of injury to women in Nepal. It can happen in all kinds of families. Between July 2023 and July 2024 (2080/2081) the police documented 14.840 cases where women suffered from domestic violence (Nepal Police).
