Whatever Happened to Personal Feelings of Guilt

War is insane, terrible and stupid!.  One might well ask if a country in the shadows of the homes of Ghandi and the Dali Llama, so torn by civil war and conflicting ideologies, can recover the peaceful soul which might have been Nepal's future at one time in the past.

There is no justification for the destruction of human lives and crushing the spirit of children in Nepal.  There is no good reason or excuse for the way in which women and children of Nepal have been treated by both the Government and the Maoists - as though human life, and the character of a life matter not.  There is no excuse for men who fail to honour and support the dignity of women and children.

Shame has disappeared from the landscape.  Blind narcissistic attitudes seduce individuals into thinking that personal ideology and power are more important than the dignity and worth of individuals .  It is enough to make one ill . . . .but this is not a time for illness.

Events in Nepal must call out the best and highest courage and resolve in good people.  Much in Nepal must change.  The changes will happen after the birth of a common spirit, caring for the next generation, prevails.  Until then, it will be death by a thousand cuts.

Ouch!

Read the articles above and meditate on them.  Reflect on the values you would like to live with in the world and find a way to achieve them peacefully. Most of our leaders, read "moral shirkers," should start with an attack of conscience and good case of old fashioned guilt!  Neither the Government nor the Maoists are are good leaders for the people.
