Skill Training - Small Business Operation

WFN regularly runs small business training for women who are not able to take part in the long-term skill development programs.

The WF accountant conducts a proportion of the classes and external professionals teach others.These classes aim to help women gain skills, which will enable them to work towards financial independence. Skills covered include:

• Creating a budget
• Monitoring production costs
• Monitoring profit and losses
• Marketing

The acquision of these skills and the application of them in the real world has led to successful businesses being run by women.  The independence and self-confidence gained through sucessful business practices helps these women to develop self discipline beyond what they brought to the shelter.  The full compliment of skills, business and personal, leads to successful women in successful families in successful communities.
