Team Building - Raising Money

THis Group (Canada Nepal Solidarity for Peace) raised $500 for a new roof on a school - just by asking!
Raising Money

This Canadian group supports WFN a well as working with immigrants to Canada.  At this meeting - After all the good food, all the socializing, all the reports were made, it was about time to bid farewell and  go home.

But why? There had been a report from WF that a roof had blown off a school and there was no money in the village to fix the school roof. Why go home just yet?

When an opportunity to do something good arises, why let it fall to the ground and disappear.  All 26 of us were challenged by one member of the group.  "How much does the roof on the school cost?" The answer from Tara Upreti was, "About $500 Canadian."

Then came the challenge by a member, "I think we are good for that.  I am willing to start it off by giving $20 and what we donot get, I will raise myself.  There is no excuse for us to give only of our time.  We have money and $500 Canadian is not much to raise in this size group."

Everyone went to their wallets, wrote cheques, and dropped money off the next day, or contributed through the web site.  We gathered $500 for the roof at the school.

That is how easy it is.  Just ask.  Do you have a book group?  Do you have a women's or men's group?  Does your Kiwanis or Rotary group take a collection from time to time to aid a very specific project?

Be in touch with us.  We will find the right project for you - one which you can sell to your group.   Your group's story and how the appeal for money was made will be featured here so that others may learn - RAISING MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE IS EASY!
