Volunteering with WFN  - Short Term and Long Term
GET: Volunteer APPLICATION FORM

Volunteers are important to WFN.  They bring a fresh perspective, new energy, dedication and caring, an appetite for sometimes hard and difficult work, but just as much a joy in living and a confidence that rubs off on the people we serve.

There are no two volunteers who are the same.  Some can take on a project for a few days or a week and others will stay on working with us for years.

Some volunteers live locally while others live half a world away running local fundraisers, managing our web site, writing grants, and simply keeping in touch with encouraging words.

Whilst studying in Nepal

Other volunteers have worked with us whilst they are involved in studies, or aid work from home institutions. Students of yoga, Tibetan Buddhism etc have worked with us during their stay here.

Fundraising

Fundraising is of utmost importance for the WFN, and if there is any opportunity to fundraise for the foundation either before or after you come to Nepal, please consider it as an option! We can supply all the information you may need. Raising funds could take the form of sponsorship for our women and children in the shelter, or for general project use. This may also be an option for those who would like to support the WFN, but are not able to volunteer as such due to time constraints. As with any project, all fundraising ideas must be discussed and approved by the WFN.

Grants/scholarships

Some volunteers have worked with us whilst they have been on scholarships from other agencies. For e.g., a Fullbright scholar is currently using a small grant available to her through her scholarship to produce an audiocassette documenting the abuse and mistreatment of widows.
