Emergency relief funds are always needed in Nepal  . . .

Whether from floods in August 2008 in the south-east Terrai regions, the remaining ravages of war in western regions, the refugee camps of Bhutanese from Tibet, women and children bound to cruel social customs ( Dalit parents tying up young children - leaving them home while they work, women brutalized as witches, kicked out of their homes while menstruating), there is a need for help in Nepal.

Donating to UNICEF or the Red Cross, you are not assured your gift goes to Nepal because funds are allocated on a global basis.

Giving to a regional organization may bring in massive amounts of relief, but requires infrastructure and time to get to everyone.

Giving to The Women's Foundation of Nepal gets reief to the worst sectors of the flooded areas.  Only small organizations can get to the worst areas quickly and bring in help which saves lives until the larger organizations can arrive.
