Letters from Renu and the WFN staff . . .
A diary of social work in Nepal . . . May 26, 2008
The Letters from Renu on these pages detail an ongoing saga of abuse. WARNING: some letters have graphic descriptions which may be disturbing. These are stories of real people in terrible trouble. The good news is that there are many individuals who are working to set the world right in Nepal. WFN is one of the groups seeing to it that something is being done to help.Dear Brian, I was away form Kathmandu for two weeks. I was in Italy for a meeting with NGOs named PANGEA ITALY and UN RAGGIOs ITALY about our program.Pangea is supporting our district project. They are helping us to run the program in five district offices and some projects. Unraggio is going to register their NGO so they can work in Nepal. Last year they supported 25 literacy classes for illiterate women and gave scholarships for 108 student for one year. A district coordinator named Annu Parsai was with me from Nepal for the meeting with Pangea. We also had a meeting with Coop Itali who purchases Silk and Cashmere scarves from WFN. Our trip was very nice . . . and fruitful. Many greetings, lots of love and respect, Renu |
