Letters from Renu and the WFN staff . . .

A diary of social work in Nepal . . . January 20, 2008

The Letters from Renu on these pages detail an ongoing saga of abuse. WARNING: these letters have graphic descriptions which may be disturbing. These are stories of real people in terrible trouble. The good news is that there are many individuals who are working to set the world right in Nepal. WFN is one of the groups seeing to it that something is being done to help.

New shelter nearly complete - Mushroom Farming will bring profit to support the programs

Dear Brian,
Namaskar

While this is a very challenging time for us there are good parts . . .

We made a very nice child care home. The place is finished. We will start using it in May. Unraggio and the coop paid  euro 1 per scarf so we have 18 thousand euro from that programme. Still this is very good and we can provide a good place for the children. The shelter building in Thali is nearly finished. It will take another month and half to complete it. All our shelter families are excited to be going to new places.

We are starting musroom farming in our organic farm. We strongly belief that this program give the support we need to cover the expenses of farm, staff salary and also provide musroom for the shelter. We start last week with 15 days of training. Soon we will start the work.

Many greetings lots of love and respect.
Renu
